Last October 22, 2016, the Tzu Chi Bohol team visited the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary at Corella, Bohol to conduct a Tree Planting activity. Tzu Chi aims to support the sanctuary and its aim, “to help preserve the world’s smallest primate” and the Mother Earth as a whole. The activity started from 2-4p.m.

The staff of the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary was indeed very thankful to Tzu Chi for helping them with their aims. Ma’am Joannie Mary Cabillo(Program Manager) and Sir Carlito Pizarras(Field Supervisor Tarsier Expert) was there to instruct everyone and to support the activity. 140 seedlings of fruit trees were planted. The Tzu Chi’s tree planting was in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources(DENR).

The activity was participated by 120 Tzu Chi Bohol Scholars and 10 Tzu Chi volunteers from all over Bohol who rendered their time and effort to help make a difference to the world. The day ended very well with the participants’ happy faces for wholeheartedly helping Mother Nature.

Overall, it was a meaningful day for everyone. Tzu Chi Bohol hopes that in the future years, the love they’ve put into the planted fruit trees will grow and be fruitful. With such purity of intention, Tzu Chi aims not just to spread love to humanity but also to the Mother Earth and the environment.
